How to take care of your teeth?
It is essential to maintain good oral hygiene to prevent dental problems and to maintain good dental health.
Tips to maintain good oral hygiene:
Brush twice a day for 3 minutes to keep your teeth clean. Place your brush bristles at an angle of 45 degrees near the gum line. Brush the outer surfaces of the teeth using a back-and-forth, up-and-down motion, making sure to be done gently to avoid bleeding. To clean the inside surfaces of the teeth and gums, place the bristles at a 45-degree angle again and repeat the back-and-forth, up-and-down motion. Lastly, brush the surfaces of your tongue and the roof of your mouth to remove bacteria, which might cause bad breath.
2)Clean your tongue:
Brush your tongue or clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner to remove bacteria and to prevent bad breath.
3)Rinse your mouth after every meal:
Rinse your mouth with water after eating to minimize the amount of food that would serve as substrate for the bacteria.
Flossing helps you remove food particles that are stuck deep between teeth and cannot be removed by brushing. Thus, flossing is essential to be done at least once a day.
5)Avoid tobacco, soda’s, coffee
Tobacco can stain the teeth as well as lead to gum diseases. Sodas can be detrimental to the teeth and can lead to tooth decay and gum problems. A lot of coffee can stain the teeth and may make it look yellow.
6)Regular dental visits: It is essential to visit your dentist every six months for routine dental check-up. This will help you in early detection of dental problems and their early correction. If you notice tooth ache or any other dental problems, contact your dentist and get it corrected at the earliest
